The Wall, Part 1: Websites for Background Information

As the next two posts are going to be about the security wall, it seemed appropriate to give some background information  about this region and about the wall itself for those who don't know much about them.

I started to write the history myself, but I realized I still don't know all the ins and outs, so I decided instead to  give you two good websites to check out. These sites give you much better information than I'd have written for you here, so I am deferring to their authority.

The first site gives a good summary of the history of Israel and Palestine, starting all the way back in 10,000 BC. That may be more than you want to know.  Thankfully, the site is set up so you can easily jump to any period of history between now and then. That site is http://israelipalestinian.procon.org/view.resource.php?resourceID=000635.

The second site gives a lot of great information about the wall. I think the FAQ part of the website is particularly informative. That website is http://stopthewall.org/
